HSA - Soccer

Hillandale soccer

Practices are one night per week. They normally begin at 6:15pm and last for approximately 1 hour. When you register you have the opportunity to select your preferred night of practice. In addition, we do our best to honor special requests to play on the same team as friends or specific coaches.

Games are generally played on Saturday mornings. Depending on league registrations and teams formed there may be occasional Friday evening games.

At HSA, we believe in small-sided teams with limited roster sizes. This approach allows for more learning, fun and enjoyment. It gives players maximum opportuntity to be involved in practices and games with an increased number of touches on the ball and more playing time. This will enhance a childs experience and allow them to develop the skills required to grow within the sport of soccer. This smaller, more personalized environment will assist the child in learning how to work within a group setting without sacrificing individual attention from their coach.

We require all players to wear shin guards. Players should also bring water, a practice ball and sneakers or cleats to all practices and games.

HSA offers 2 levels of programming for soccer:

RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS - 2 League Options

Co-Ed - U4, U5, U6, U8, U10, U12, U14

All-Girls - U8, U10, U12, U14, U17

If for some reason there are not enough players registered to form teams within an age group, Hillandale Sports Association reserves the right to combine age groups based on program registrations. Registrants will be informed if this situation arises.

NEW CHANGES for U14 Co-Ed League - Spring 2012

For the Spring 2012 Season the U14 Co-Ed Soccer League will play within the Durham County Boys Soccer League (DCYSL). This is a semi-travel league and teams from Holt, NJAA and Oak Grove will participate. Teams will practice on a local field but will play a home and away game schedule.

All other leagues (co-ed and all-girls) will play an internal schedule amongst Hillandale Teams and no travel will be required to other associations.

COMPETITIVE PROGRAMS (ADP)

A more competitive based program for U8 and U10 Boys and Girls. This program is called ADP (Advanced Development Program) and is managed by Triangle United Soccer Association.
