Age 4-5, Instructional League
We play baseball, not tee ball. Many studies have shown that it is easier for kids to hit a moving ball, and it develops better hand/eye coordination. In this age group, pitches are thrown by a pitching machine or the coach. There are no strikes or balls, every kid hits every inning and every kid scores every inning. Games are comprised of two innings, each consisting of the entire team batting. A player is thrown 5 pitches. If they have not hit the ball after 5 pitches, the player can either receive help from a coach/parent or hit the ball off of a tee. The fielding team does not make a play on the runner. Instead, they field it and throw it back to the coach and the runner stops at the closest base. The last batter automatically hits a home run to clear all the bases.

Age 5-6, Developmental League
(If you have a 5-year-old, you need to decide if they will play in the Instructional or Developmental league, as they can play in either). This league is machine pitch. Players get 5 pitches, then hit from a tee. Players attempt to make a play on the runner. Games are comprised of three innings, which consist of three outs or five runs.
